The Nosy Departed

Love never dies. More than a decade
after he passed, Richard continued to
contact his wife, Pat. Read their story
in Loitering at the Gate to Eternity:
Memoirs of a Psychic Bystander
( foreword by Concetta Bertoldi).
Several psychic mediums I've interviewed tell me that when our loved ones die, they continue to have an avid interest in what's going on in our lives. Apparently, most of us, without realizing it, are being watched over by our own loving, nosy entourage of dead relatives and friends. Even though we might sometimes feel alone, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Our departed loved ones attend weddings, birthday parties and other milestone events. They whisper encouragement and suggestions in our ears. They share our victories and our sorrows. They can even warn us about accidents, illnesses and people to avoid if we're tuned in enough to listen.

It's not uncommon for children to see and communicate with departed grandparents. In some cases, they may have doting grandmas and grandpas who died before they were even born.

Many people find it comforting to know that their departed loved ones continue to be an invisible support in their lives. This possibility can also open up a floodgate of questions, as posed by renowned psychic medium Concetta Berdoldi's New York Times best-selling book, Do Dead People Watch You Shower?

A Mysterious Beginning...

Grandma Dolores, the  matriarchal family psychic.
(1909-2009)
Last year, something strange and unexpected happened to me.

I'm married to a psychic, and have been for more then 20 years, so I'm not unaccustomed to mysterious doings. But most of the amazing experiences that occur in this family tend to bypass me. I guess you could call me a psychic bystander. So imagine my surprise when I woke up one morning and knew that I needed to write something. Granted, I write for a living, but most of the writing I do is in the scientific arena. This had little to do with science.

It began with the notion that I should write down my husband's more than 40 years of fascinating psychic tales. Before long, I realized I had three chapters of a book. Then I thought, many members of my husband's family possess paranormal gifts, too. So I began interviewing them, one after another.

An invisible momentum was set in motion. Many of our friends are psychic, and they have friends with similar abilities. It seemed as if the book was beginning to assemble itself. People were now contacting me, asking if they could be interviewed. Even four professional psychics expressed interest in being in the book, so I happily took down their stories. One of them, best-selling author and psychic medium Concetta Bertoldi, graciously offered to write the Foreword. Within six months, I had the first draft of a completed manuscript sitting on my computer.

The end product will be published later this year under the title, Loitering at the Gate to Eternity: Memoirs of a Psychic Bystander. The book contains more than 100 paranormal stories, psychic trivia from antiquity to today, and some interesting background on educational institutions, researchers, and military groups that take paranormal abilities seriously enough to funnel millions of dollars into studying them.

This blog will update how the book is coming along, and after it's published, where I will be appearing to promote it.

Some people believe in the paranormal and others think that it's nonsense. I invite you to read this book and decide for yourself!
